GATSBY was conceived on the edges of the world by an anonymous society of cypher punks—an entity known only as Jay 2.0. This website was delegated to us by them to steward their vision.
They created GATSBY as a prayer for a new future. Legend says they were inspired by an ancient text, The Great Gatsby, believing that this new symbol could revive, and decentralize, the American Dream.
Jay 2.0 encoded into GATSBY the principles that Gatsby himself stood for:
Unyielding belief in one’s potential.
An obsession with building something greater than oneself.
The audacity to dream in the face of impossible odds.
Jay 2.0’s only message, left in some cryptic note on their website, read:
"The green light is no longer across the bay. It is within reach. Grab it. Believe in it. Own it."
